Maya Quetzali Gonzalez is a Texas-grown/Brooklyn-based artist, arts worker, and organizer.
Her directing and choreography has been seen at SheNYC, OOB, The Tank, Judson Arts, The Brick, and UCLA’s Dancing Disability Lab. As an associate/assistant, she has worked at Playwrights, Signature, MCC, Roundabout, and twice on Broadway. She is an Associate Member of SDC and a Forge Fellow. 
Maya is an emerging leader in equitable funding practices. Until recently, she was the Grants Manager for the MAP Fund, where she managed the distribution of more than $8 million to performing artists across the country. Maya has also served as reviewer/panelist for organizations such as New York State Council on the Arts and the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and has consulted for YoungArts. She is a member of Women of Color in the Arts and is on the board of
IndieSpace.
Maya is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where she was a Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholar.  She is an organizer for reproductive justice and was previously a climate organizer with the Sunrise Movement.
